It express the resurrection of Prophet Jesus three days after the crucifixion. Today it is belıeved that the Prophet Jesus passed back to life and made a great feast but there is no exact day about when Paskalya eid is celebrated. It includes the period from the end of march each year untill the end of april. Christians accept the Paskalya as a chief eid and a kind of they accepted it as a foundation and the first ring of festival calendar.

Although it differ according to country celebrated, Paskalya is celebrated by Christians. The other name of Paskalya which is celebrated on sundays is qiyam feast day and resurrection.

Generally apart from ritual seen in church people giving boiled coloured Paskalya egg as a gift. Also in houses buns are made called on behalf of Paskalya buns, eggs are boiled and coloured ,candles are burned on and prayers are recited. Paskalya also called 3 weeks period which is passed with diet includes the holy week which is the last week and it ends with resurrection. The origin of the word is based on Hebrew andı it is derıved from the word of “Pesah” it means pass without touching. Also Jewry every year, with the same name, religous sky month in 14th day they made an eid celebration of their output from Egypt. In this eid the first product of sheep, the first product of the eaten matzo is the evidence of being spring of the eid and ressurection feast of nature and depend on it is bassicaly the same sources.

Paskalya is an eid which is celebrated in spring and it comes from the beliefs of Dumuzi God of Sumerians that revive in spring and die in autumn, in Sami’s Temmuz, in Anatolia Attis and in Greeks Adonis.

We should perceive that this eid is not only of Christians it is also a compromise whıch is given by monotheistic religious to Pagan culture. As many faiths after meeting with Islam also Arab Alevism carry on this tradition. As it is seen the tribes or the communities who lives in the same geography and after belonging to different religions without giving up from the traditions and customs which comes from the past, it has to be adopt to the new faith.
